EU deal helps India diversify exports
The EU-India free trade agreement is a significant positive for India and its exporters. The EU is already one of India's largest markets, with bilateral trade at $135 billion in 2024 and the EU a significant destination for Indian exporters. Securing the deal would help India diversify away from the US market and blunt the impact of high US tariffs on Indian goods, while supporting efforts to find new export markets.
